LēˇĆahi

LēˇĆahi (or better known by its English name Diamond Head) is one of Hawai'i's most well-known landmarks. The name LēˇĆahi likely relates to how the mountain resembles the dorsal fin of a tuna (ˇĆahi), and the name Diamond Head relates to the calcite crystals that were found on the beach by English sailors in the 19th century. If you love hiking and adventure, this is a great hike. Pro tip: This side of Oʻahu gets very dry and very hot, so start early in the day if you can, and don't forget your water and sunscreen!
