Laka is the goddess of hula, which is the art of dance and storytelling performed by the ancient Hawaiians. Laka is also considered to be the goddess of the forest, and she is represented by several plants sacred to her , most notably the maile vine, which is found high up in the mountain forests.

The afternoon tea at the Moana Surfrider hotel is a fabulous excuse to dress up a little and have yourself a tea party complete with savories and sweets (also the orange blueberry scones are to die for, especially when paired with the lilikoi curd and mascarpone cream~~!!)!
