Kane-huna-moku, or "Hidden Land of Kane" is one of several sacred lands where Kane and his twin Kanaloa lived amongst other descendants of Kane. It is said to look like a floating cloud, and sometimes one can see it on the horizon at sunrise or sunset from Wailua, off the coast of Kaua'i. These are sacred lands, so when seen, one must never point at them!
It's a scorcher! Summer days mean cold treats to beat the heat! What better than a cup of sweet shave ice? Waiola Shave Ice is located in McCully, and they have plenty of fun flavours from "traditional" flavours like lime and cherry, to island style flavours like POG and Lilikoi! Be advised though, parking is super limited, and they are cash only!
What makes a skincare routine? Kane and Kanaloa are twin brothers, making up the other half of our quartet of great gods who were were wandering in the time of po. Kane is a god of creation while also considered a god of atmospheric light and clouds, and Kanaloa is the god of the ocean with the ocean, ocean animals and underground fresh water as his domain.
Next Stop Zippy's! This Hawaii diner chain has be around for a minute, serving all kinds of yummy goods, most famously their chili. Wherever you find a Zippy's, you'll likely also find a Napoleon's Bakery to satisfy your sweet tooth after you meal (hint: the apple pie is a goodie!)

Lono is another one of the great gods, and he was associated with fertility, agriculture, and peace! The Makahiki is a time of peace that spans approximately 4 months starting around October, during the rainy season, and marks the beginning of a new year. During this time, people could rest and take part in games, and war was kapu, or forbidden.
